Yes, chemical peels pair beautifully with neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Botox and chemical peels are commonly done at the same visit — the peel addresses surface texture and pigmentation while Botox smooths dynamic wrinkles. If you’re getting dermal fillers, we typically recommend spacing your peel and filler appointments 1–2 weeks apart. Superficial (light) peels like our Illuminize use gentle acids to exfoliate only the outermost layer of skin (epidermis) with no downtime. Medium-depth peels like our Vitalize and Rejuvenize penetrate deeper into the upper dermis, treating sun damage, acne scars, and melasma with 2–7 days of visible peeling. Deep peels (phenol peels) penetrate the deeper dermis and require significant recovery — we do not offer deep peels at Reviv Beauty because the risk-to-benefit ratio is unfavorable compared to multiple medium-depth peel sessions and complementary treatments like microneedling.

Neither is universally “better” — they address different concerns. Chemical peels excel at treating pigmentation, melasma, sun damage, and surface texture. Microneedling is superior for deep acne scarring, collagen stimulation, and fine lines. Many patients achieve optimal results by alternating between chemical peels and microneedling every 4–6 weeks. Chemical peels are generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution. While superficial peels like the Illuminize use mild ingredients, many chemical peel formulations contain salicylic acid and other ingredients that are best avoided during pregnancy.
