Types of Facial Fillers Explained
Not every "filler" is the same. There are three core categories — each with very different mechanisms, longevity, and reversibility. Reviv carries two; we deliberately don’t carry the third.
Category 1
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
What we carry: the entire Juvederm collection — Volbella XC, Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC, Vollure XC, Voluma XC, Volux XC, plus Skinvive.
How it works: HA is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in skin. Injected HA holds up to 1,000× its weight in water, adding immediate volume.
Lasts: 6–18 months depending on product.
Reversible: Yes — fully dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Category 2
Biostimulators
What we carry: Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) and Bellafill (PMMA microspheres in collagen).
How it works: instead of adding volume directly, biostimulators trigger your body to make new collagen over weeks to months. Results build gradually.
Lasts: 12 months (Radiesse) to 5+ years (Bellafill).
Reversible: Radiesse can be partially dissolved off-label with Hylenex; Bellafill cannot.
Category 3
What We Don’t Carry
Not stocked: Restylane, RHA Collection, Revanesse Versa, Sculptra.
Why: Reviv is intentionally Juvederm-exclusive. AMI certification, MD Codes™ training, and Allergan’s VYCROSS technology give us the most predictable, reversible HA results in the Orlando market.
